UFC Shenzhen Main Card Predictions
Mizuki Inoue (-155) vs. Wu Yanan (+125)
To kickoff the Main Card, Mizuki Inoue (13-5-0) faces Wu “Mulan” Yanan (10-2-0) in a Women’s Flyweight matchup. Despite coming in overweight by three pounds, China’s Wu Yanan will still have the opportunity to walk out of the Octagon this weekend with a winning UFC record. Wu Yanan lost to Gina Mazany by Unanimous Decision in her promotional debut in November 2017 at UFC Shanghai. Yanan was able to bounce back  one year later at UFC Beijing, defeating Lauren Mueller via First Round Submission (armbar). Submission specialist Mizuki Inoue will be making her UFC debut against Yanan having won five of her last six competing in Japan’s DEEP and Invicta FC. Inoue has 9 professional wins by Submission, and is coming off of a Unanimous Decision win over former UFC talent Viviane Pereira at Invicta FC 32 last November.  I think that this bout most likely goes to the judges as Inoue comes away with a Decision victory.

🔮

: Inoue via Decision
D’Bo’s Pick: Yanan via Decision
Derrick Krantz (-110) vs. Song Kenan (-110)
With the last minute cancellation of Evoev vs. Lu, the Welterweight bout between “D-Rock” Derrick Krantz (22-11-0) and Song “The Assasin” Kenan (14-4-0) has been bumped up to the Main Card. Song Kenan started his UFC career coming out hot, right out of the gate, blitzing Bobby Nash en route to a :15 second First Round KO finish at UFC Shanghai in November 2017. Kenan  went on to defeat Hector Aldana via Third Round TKO in a entertaining battle at UFC Singapore last summer, but would then lose to Alex Moreno via Decision at UFC Beijing five months later. The Assassin should have no trouble finding veteran Derrick Krantz willing to stand and exchange in the middle of the Octagon. Taking the fight on short notice, Derrick Krantz came out ready to fight but ultimately came out on the losing end, losing via First Round TKO in his promotional debut at UFC Rochester in May against rising star Vicente Luque. Krantz had previously won his last three bouts fighting with Legacy Fight Alliance and will be facing Kenan in his 35th professional MMA fight. Krantz has only gone the distance five times in his career, and we all know that Song Kenan likes to get after it, so much so, that it could be a detriment against an experienced opponent with finishing power. Should be a fun scrap!

: Krantz via Second Round KO
D’Bo’s Pick: Song via Third Round TKO
Kai Kara-France (-225) vs. Mark De La Rosa (+175)
Prospects Kai “Don’t Blink” Kara-France (19-7-0,1NC) and Mark “Bumblebee” De La Rosa (11-2-0) meet as they jockey for position in the wide open Flyweight Division. Two years after competing on Season 24 of the Ultimate Fighter, New Zealand’s Kai Kara-France has made the most of his opportunity since joining the UFC with back to back Decision wins over Elias Garcia and Raulian Paiva, and extending his current win streak to seven. Mark De La Rosa defeated Elias Garcia  via Second Round Submission at UFC Boise last July and then backed up that performance with a Split Decision win against Joby Sanchez at UFC Denver in November. However, “Bumblebee” was unable to keep his momentum rolling and lost a Unanimous Decision to Alex Perez at UFC  Philadelphia in March. De La Rosa will be looking to start a new winning streak while Kara-France would like to cement himself as the next up and coming Contender in the Flyweight division with an impressive showing. Kara-France should be able to get a Decision win, but must show improvement in his conditioning and not get lazy on the mat, as Mark De La Rosa is always a threat to pull off a Submission.

🔮

: De La Rosa via Third Round Submission
D’Bo’s Pick: De La Rosa via First Round Submission
#14 Elizieu Zaleski Dos Santos (-300) vs. Li Jingliang (+240)
Although he is fighting at home, “The Leech” Li Jingliang (16-5-0) finds himself in unfamiliar territory as he will be an underdog for the first time in his ten fight UFC career against Brazilian Elizieu “Capoeira” Zaleski Dos Santos (21-5-0). Zaleski Dos Santos, who is riding an impressive seven fight win streak, has continued to make waves in the Welterweight division and has now found himself ranked amongst the best in the world, following his First Round Submission victory over Curtis Millender in March at UFC Wichita. “Capoeira” has four stoppage wins during his current streak and is quickly becoming must watch TV as the guy is pure entertainment. “The Leech” has since rebounded from his Decision loss to Jake Matthews last February with consecutive wins over Daichi Abe and David Zawada to regain his swagger back. I am honestly surprised to see Li Jingliang as this big of an underdog fighting in China, which really  speaks volumes to how much of a talent and devastating striker Elizieu Zaleski Dos Santos really is.

🔮

: Dos Santos via Second Round KO
D’Bo’s Pick: Dos Santos via Second Round TKO

MAIN EVENT—Women’s UFC Strawweight Championship
{C} Jessica Andrade (-180) vs. #6 Weili Zhang (+140)
Newly crowned Strawweight Champion, Jessica “Bate Estaca” Andrade (20-6-0) prepares to make her first title defense against a worthy opponent in Weili “Magnum” Zhang (19-1-0). Andrade lived up to her middle namesake to become world champion at UFC by pile driving Rose Namajunas on her head  which resulted in a Second Round TKO (slam) win for Andrade. (“Bate Estaca” translates to “pile driver”). Andrade, however, will not receive the Bisping Treatment, and receive an “easy” opponent in her first title defense. Despite only being ranked #6 in the division, Weili Zhang is 3-0 in the UFC and is on a ridiculous nineteen fight win streak dating back to 2013 when Zhang lost a Decision in her professional MMA debut. While two of Zhang’s UFC wins (Torres, Taylor)went the distance, Weili has sixteen stoppage wins to date. Jessica Andrade has won four straight and is 7-1 since moving down to Strawweight, in a career move that has paid off massive dividends. Both of these ladies are fight finishers, but I give an edge to Zhang in her well rounded abilities as Zhang  exhibited a great ground game and some vicious ground and pound against Jessica Aguilar at UFC Beijing last year. Will “Magnum” stay perfect on her home soil to become champion  or will the “Bate Estaca” retain her title?
