Bellator London Main Card Predictions
Terry Brazier (+120) vs. Soren Bak (-140)
“The Dominator” Terry Brazier (11-2-0) hopes to string together consecutive wins as he takes on “The True Viking” Soren Bak (12-1-0) in a Lightweight matchup. Having won his last five straight competing with Cage Warriors FC, one of Europe’s most talented prospects and the former two time Cage Warriors Champion, Soren Bak, has decided to take his talents to Bellator MMA where meets another former two time champion from BAMMA, Terry Brazier, in his promotional debut. Things didn’t go as planned for Terry Brazier in his debut against Chris Bungard at Bellator Newcastle in February, losing via First Round Submission and putting an end to a nine fight win streak. Brazier was able to bounce back with a Third Round Submission of Alessandro Botti at Bellator 223 in June and momentum heading into his collision with Bak. Holding wins over the likes of Morgan Charriere and Paddy Pimblett, I feel like Soren Bak has faced a higher level caliber of opponents than Brazier and I expect the True Viking to make an impressive showing in his Bellator debut.
Danny’s Crystal Ball Prediction: Bak via Second Round Submission
D’Bo’s Pick: Bak via Second Round TKO
Fabian Edwards (-325) vs. Michael Shipman (+265)
If the Bellator 235 weigh-ins were any indication of what is in store for the Middleweight clash between “The Assasin” Fabian Edwards (8-0-0) and Michael “Seabass” Shipman (13-2-0), this one should be fireworks. Undefeated Fabian Edwards has accumulated a perfect 8-0 record with six stoppage victories, in two and a half years. The Assasin earned a Unanimous Decision win over Jonathan Bosuko in June at Bellator 223, and appears plenty fired up and ready to take on Mike Shipman. After making a successful debut against Scott Futrell at Bellator 210, Michael Shipman is coming off of a Second Round TKO loss to Costello Van Steenis in July, which ended a lengthy thirteen fight win streak. Seabass now aims to get back on the winning track by being the fighter to give Fabian Edwards his first taste of defeat.
Danny’s Crystal Ball Prediction: Shipman via First Round KO
D’Bo’s Pick: Edwards via Second Round KO
Michael Page (-1200) vs. Giovanni Melillo (+775)
In the Main Event, Michael “Venom” Page (15-1-0) will be looking put on another showcase performance as he takes on “The Punisher” Giovanni Melillo (13-4-0) in a Welterweight matchup. Italian Giovanni Melillo steps up on short notice replacing Derek Anderson against Page, with quite the opportunity to shake things up in his promotional debut. Melillo earned a Unanimous Decision over Will Chope competing on the Italian regional circuit at FC 24 in May. Prior to his win over Chope, Melillo had lost his previous two bouts by TKO, and in fact, all four of Giovanni Melillo’s losses have come via First Round KO/TKO. We got to see vintage MVP rebound from his oss to Douglas Lima in the Welterweight Grand Prix with a First Round Flying Knee Knockout of Richard Kiely at Bellator 227 in September. And now MVP looks to have an encore performance in under two months time against last minute replacement Giovanni Melillo. The Italian does have ten wins by stoppage on his record with eight knockouts and two submission wins, and the Punisher would would pull off the upset of the year if he can put out the fire of Michael Venom Page.
Danny’s Crystal Ball Prediction: Page via First Round TKO
D’Bo’s Pick: Page via First Round TKO
